Stephen Robert Isabalija, Director, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation
Stephen is the Head of the Institute of Change Management and Public Policy at the International Center for Information Technology and Development (ICITD), Southern University, USA. He is also a lecturer at Makerere University Business School, where he lectures and researches change management, innovation and organizational behavior.
Stephen is a Finance and Management Specialist with Post-Graduate Training and considerable field experience in Specialized Financial Management and Project Management Skills in Donor and Government Accounting in areas of Budgeting, Value-for-Money Audits, Project Accounting, Contract Accounting and Management, Treasury Management, Credit Management, Project Management and Evaluation, and Financial Manual Writing. He has participated in the management, design and implementation of a number of consultancies with public and private sector institutions including the Uganda Government, World Bank, The Royal Danish Embassy, Catholic Relief Services, International Foundation for Election Systems and Ecumenical Church Loan Fund. Robert volunteers on PearlRichards projects as a monitoring and evaluation manager and in an advisory role in leadership development programs.
Michael Nkum, Director, Projects Marketing and Branding
Michael Nkum is a Pharmacist by profession, an MBA Marketing candidate at the University of Ghana Business School and a social entrepreneur. Michael volunteers on project implementation, marketing and branding of PearlRichards Projects. He also works with South African Pharmaceutical firm in Ghana. He is the general secretary of the Greater Accra branch of the Ghana Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.
He is also the founder of Golgie Limited, a business development company which helps individuals and foreign investors with brilliant ideas draw comprehensive implementation plans to see the success of their concept/ idea in the Ghanaian sector.
Benjamin Danso, Director, Media Relations and Communications
Danso is a partner and Director of Business Development of Softbase Group Co. Ltd (a Software Development Company in Accra-Ghana). Danso is a qualified Chartered Marketer from the Institute of Marketing (CIM-UK); he has postgraduate training in ICT and Entrepreneurship from Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology Ghana. He wrote and coordinated a national communication plan with the aim of communicating the importance of the family system vis-à-vis Orphanage Homes for the development of the orphan and vulnerable child (Orphan Aid Africa/UNICEF) in 2007. He established and managed the Western Regional office of a technology company, INTU-IT. He volunteers on media relations and communications management for PearlRichards projects.
Andrew S. Defor, Consulting Director, Traditional Medicine Initiative
Andrew Defor is a Medical Biochemist by Profession with specializations in Plant Pharmacology, Medicine and Biotechnology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has extensive experience in Pharmacological Research, Pharmaceutical Drug Regulation and Essential Drugs and Medicines Policy from his work at the Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research, Food and Drugs Board and the World Health Organization respectively. He collaborates with PearlRichards as the Director of the PearlRichards' Traditional Medicine Initiative. Andrew is assisting the foundation in working with traditional medicine research and development institutions to promote, educate and protect traditional medicine in Ghana.
Albert Mucunguzi, East Africa Director, PearlRichards Foundation
Albert Mucunguzi, 25, is a Ugandan Entrepreneur, Web Developer, Graphics designer, and writer. He is the founder and Executive Director of PC Tech Magazine. He has started and managed various businesses and concepts, including Galaxy Communications, a web-design firm, and and was involved in the starting up of Digital Learning Africa, an initiative to promote the use of learning technologies and electronic resources in educational institutions in Africa.
Albert also worked at Makerere University Business School as a website Administrator for 2 years before he resigned in September 2010. He has successfully built a career in IT despite having studied Statistics and Economics at Undergraduate level at Makerere University.
He, however believes what one becomes in life purely depends on what their hearts desire - regardless of whether they may be adequately or inadequately facilitated to achieve it. He believes, what he refers to as 'conflict' can only delay - but not stop a willing and determined heart, arguing that life is all about ‘conflict’: that there always seems to be something standing in the way of everything.
