The Congo Development Partnership is a UK-based voluntary organisation which acts as support programme to Congolese people, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, on projects relating to education, health and the development of sustainable economical micro-enterprise. Our first portfolio of projects is known as the Tshilenge Initiative. This portfolio led by CODEPP seeks to work with two organizations based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: Congo Caritas Development (CCD) and The Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA).

Four interlinked projects will take place in villages in Tshilenge district of the Eastern Kasai province aiming at delivering the following results:

  • (a) keeping HIV/AIDS-orphaned and HIV/AIDS-parented children off streets by increasing their  elementary school enrolment and participation; priority given to girls,
  • (b) provide basic means for identifying new cases of HIV/AIDS in pregnant women and prevent mother-to-child transmission,
  • (c) raise more HIV/AIDS awareness and
  • (d) support and teach skills to help HIV/AIDS sufferers’ family members to become financially active so that they may care for their HIV/AIDS affected family members?
