Reflections from IDRC Open Development Workshop
The information economy has led to different forms of participation, access and collaboration. Within development circles these themes have been associated with development birthing concepts like open development, openness and development, open access among others. However the question is what is openness and what its development – is there are any conceptual link? Some argue that openness leads to development but what is openness and who defines openness?
The IDRC workshop sought to explore these these developing themes and gain better understanding of the concepts and more importantly define the appropriate research agenda.
